Vampy Lips

As the crisp winter air snaps at our heels, we’re beginning to layer up in our favorite winter coats and knit scarves, and so it is also a time to switch our winter lip colour to a shade that’s more seasonally appropriate.

A mainstay during the cooler months, bordeaux lips have reclaimed icon status this season, taking on a darker shade of red among lipstick-loving beauty mavens.  A deep berry lip is fiercely glamorous and undeniably empowering, so why not add this opulent shade to your morning make-up repertoire?

If you are new to vampy lips, you can flirt with this trend by applying a sheer wash of colour; either choose a berry lip stain or gloss for a subtle hint of colour or, using a darker lipstick simply dab and blend using your finger until you reach the shade you desire. If you want to dial-up the drama, using a highly pigmented shade, apply the bullet directly to the lips. Layer and blot for bold colour-drenched lips that pack a punch.

Achieve pout perfection using the same prep and application tips from my perfect red pout post, as the same rules apply here.

Beauty tip: ensure you have well-groomed brows and a sweep of rosy blush to add to the wow factor of this seasonal look.

The world is your oyster when it comes to these riotous shades. Here is my selection of  the perfect autumnal colours from vampy through to seductress…
